1/ There is no democratric deficit within the European Union whatsoever.
2/ Immigrants are not a bad thing; quite the contrary.
3/ From a rational point of view, UK was better off financially dealing with the rest of the world as a EU member.
Now what will the Brexit bring to UK?
1/ More democracy? More sovereignty? I doubt it. With Scotland strongly wishing to stick with EU and thinking about a possible seperation, and Ireland that might take the opportunity to reunite with its second half, it looks like UK is just heading on LESS sovereignty. Moreover with Cameron not even sure of being reelected the political environment could become extremely volatile.
2/ So, no more immigrants heh? A good thing? No absolutely not. Immigrants are the backbone of European economy and always have been. We need them to compensate our demographic downfall, and to do the job that most people now don’t want to do (factory, construction site, industrial manpower).
So good luck UK with your pension reforms, I think it’s gonna be a tough one for you.
3/ I’m not sure about how the choice of leaving the EU is financially “optimal”. It cannot be good. I would say it is catastrophic. I mean in the EU we have the central bank, and a solid crisis management network to respond to a financial crash but what do YOU have now to regulate your markets?
Hey after all maybe they have a secret plan about all this but I seriously doubt it. Even Cameron hardly believed that referendum would end so dramatically.
So in conclusion, well done UK, or should I say, well done 51% people of UK. Yes well done,
I congratulate you, you have now officially become populist and xenophobic. Among other denomination that I won’t list here.
What a sad day for Europe.
I just hope France and Germany will promptly react to this crisis before it escalates and apply their back-up plan (still dunno what it is but can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next).
